Aimee Beyers, MA, LMFT

I've long been drawn to the places where life becomes uncertain and difficult to explain: identity shifts, loss, existing between cultures, creative callings, relationships, anxiety, and psychedelic or mystical experiences. These are often the moments when old ways of understanding ourselves no longer fit, and something new is beginning to emerge.

My approach to therapy is informed by my own life story as a person who has, since childhood, navigated starkly different cultures, the act of saying goodbye, and the experience of being an outsider through a series of international moves. In practice, this allows me to see beyond the confines of social norms and one-size-fits-all approaches. Rather than following a prescribed script, our work becomes an exploration of your world, with your hopes and concerns guiding the way, so that we can create a path forward that feels uniquely suited to you.

In addition, my background in the music industry, where I worked as a musician and songwriter for over a decade, provides me with a particular sensitivity to those in creative fields and those who think creatively. I am familiar with balancing artistic integrity and commercial expectations, the perils and joys of working in a highly subjective field, the changing landscape shaped by "the algorithm," and success as it ebbs and flows. I'm also familiar with the otherworldly sense of awe a person can experience when, for even a moment during the creative process, everything feels aligned.

My work combines the exploratory nature of narrative therapy with body-based approaches that help people reconnect with themselves when stress, trauma, or major life transitions have left them feeling stuck. I view therapy as a collaborative process, one grounded in curiosity, reflection, and a deep respect for the complexity of being human.
